A walk in the park with Bits

What do you do on a good day? You have a picnic in the park with your date. The fact the garden is just a short distance away from home sweeten the deal though poor Mr Bits have to drive 40 minutes to pick me up. He even made special Russian salad. For someone who doesn't cook, it's very sweet. He said his mum have to QC and made him take out the beetroots and re-chop them. I can only imagined how it had looked like previously. Thanks to Mama Bits that we have a proper Russian salad.

If the picture doesn't ring a bell, we went to Rhododendron Park on the Dandenong Ranges, where it snows on a bad winter day. Mr Bits had to correct me a few times before I got this right. Somehow I keep saying Rotterdam Park.

We choose this place at Mr Bit's recommendation. One of his previous Photography Meetup groups came here. It was also my first picnic. Between the two of us, we have enough to feed 4. It doesn't look a lot but Mr Bits is a small eater.

The garden itself is 103 acres, quite impossible to cover it all in day unless you ran around. It is well spread with themes at different nooks and crannies not to mention ponds here and there. There is even a Sakura section but you have to coincide with it as they only bloom for a short period. We were too late but we still make our picnic there among the now green Sakura trees. It was wonderful until a big group with 4 generations invade our little groove. It's kinda hard to keep the romantic mood going with a bunch of kids doing rolling on the grass and doing cartwheels.

So we pack our picnic basket, and went for a nice long walk. Mr Bits do like his walks. All too soon the day is gone and we have to make our way home. We promise to come back during Autumn and see the autumn scene.
